Robert Plaga

Robert Plaga was born in Ivančice. After completing his studies at Gymnázium Jana Blahoslava, he graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of Mendel University in Brno, master's programme in Economic Policy and Administration, majoring in Finance, before obtaining his PhD degree also in Economic Policy and Administration. At the same university, he founded and headed the Centre for Technology Transfer and Cooperation with Industry. In 2015, he joined the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as Deputy Minister heading the Higher Education, Science and Research section. From 2017 to 2021 he was Minister of Education, Youth
and Sports. From 2022 to 2025, he chaired the board of the National Accreditation Office for Higher Education. He also has experience in local government, having served as a member of the Brno City Council.

He has been involved in sports all his life, both at the top and performance levels. He's married and he has two daughters.
