Aleš Juchelka
Minister of Labour and Social Affairs
Aleš Juchelka comes from Ostrava, where he was born and where he still lives with his family.
After graduating from Matiční gymnázium, he completed his five-year studies at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Ostrava. During his studies, he joined the foreign payment section of Moravia banka, a. s., in Ostrava and in 1998 he started his own business in production, media and PR. In the same year he became one of the prominent faces of Czech Television and he continued to work for the operator until 2012 as a creator of children's programmes, journalism and documentaries. He then founded a company dedicated to production and agency activities. He has been in politics since 2010, when he was a councillor of the Statutory City of Ostrava and chairman of the audit committee.
He has been a Member of Parliament since 2017. In the Chamber of Deputies, he works on social affairs and the media. Throughout his time in the Chamber, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Family and Equal Opportunities, the Committee on Social Policy and the Electoral Committee. From 2021 he chaired the Committee for Media Affairs, and in mid-2024 he became vice-chair of the Chamber of Deputies.
He is a lifelong sports and theatre enthusiast. He is married and has three children.
