Prime Minister Fiala after the summit in Angola: If we are serious about reducing illegal migration, we need to work more closely with Africa
On 24 and 25 November 2025, the outgoing Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, attended the seventh EU-African Union Summit in Luanda, Angola. Among other topics, the leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in the areas of security and prosperity. The meeting, which commemorated 25 years of partnership between the EU and the African Union, took place during Angola's rotating presidency of the African Union. On the sidelines of the conference, the Prime Minister held talks with the leaders of Mauritania, Ethiopia, Kenya and Côte d'Ivoire also attending an informal summit of EU leaders on Ukraine in Luanda.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala receives a high papal order
On Thursday, 20 November 2025, the outgoing Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, received a high papal order — the Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX — from the hands of the Apostolic Nuncio to the Czech Republic, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo (Cavaliere di Gran Croce dell'Ordine Piano). The honours were conferred on him by Pope Leo XIV. It is the highest award the Holy See confers upon public life officials.

Prime Minister Fiala held talks with President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begai
On Wednesday, 19 November 2025, the outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala met with President Bajram Begai of the Republic of Albania at the Kramář Villa. The main topics of the meeting were the current international situation, the progress of Albania's accession negotiations to the European Union and economic cooperation. The Prime Minister praised the dynamic development of Czech-Albanian relations and Albania's role in strengthening stability in the Western Balkans.

Prime Minister Fiala received the new US Ambassador Nicholas Merrick
On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America Nicholas Merrick at the Straka Academy. Together they confirmed the excellent level of Czech-American relations and discussed the possibilities of their further development and security issues.

Prime Minister Fiala after the negotiation of the Coalition of the Willing: The financing of the Russian war machine must be prevented
On Friday, 24 October 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated via videoconference in a meeting of the leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing hosted by the United Kingdom. The leaders discussed, among other things, economic pressure on Russia and further support for Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the meeting in London.

Prime Minister Fiala after the European Council meeting: Czech Republic rejects the proposal to cut emissions by 90% by 2040
On Thursday 23 October 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala attended the European Council meeting in Brussels. The leaders of the Member States discussed increasing the competitiveness of the European economy, further support for Ukraine, strengthening European defence and combating illegal migration. On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Prime Minister Fiala in Copenhagen: Strengthening Europe's eastern border is a priority
On 1 October 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala attended the informal European Council meeting in Copenhagen. The meeting focused on strengthening European security in the context of the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. The main topics were the protection of the EU's eastern border, further military and financial support to Ukraine and the development of common defence, including the strengthening of defence-industrial cooperation.

Prime Minister Fiala at the opening of NATO Days: Coordinating group established as means of anti-drone state protection
On Saturday, 20 September, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and the Minister of Defence Jana Černochová opened the 25th anniversary NATO Days and the 16th Air Force Days at the Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov. At the opening ceremony, Petr Fiala delivered a short speech, visited the exhibition of modern weapons purchased for the Czech Army and met with representatives of the defence industry. The Prime Minister also responded to the current security situation, where Russian drones and aircraft have been violating the airspace of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in recent days. That is why Petr Fiala-led government decided to establish a coordinating group for anti-drone protection of the state at the State Security Council.

Government approves donation of medical supplies, via Jordan they will go to the Gaza Strip
In an effort to improve the critical humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the government of Petr Fiala approved a donation of medical supplies worth CZK 1.37 million, primarily intended for the Jordanian field hospitals there. The vote was held by correspondence on Thursday 18 September 2025, with the transport of medical supplies to be provided by the Czech Army.
