NOTICE: A Joint Meeting of the Governments of Israel and the Czech Republic Will Be Held in Prague
The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, will arrive for a visit to the Czech Republic on Thursday 17 May 2012. The members of his delegation will include other ministers in the Israeli government, specifically Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman, Minister of Industry Shalom Simhon, Minister for Science and Technology Daniel Hershkowitz, Minister of Communications and Welfare & Social Services Moshe Kahlon, Minister of Transport Israel Katz, Minister of Housing and Construction Ariel Atias, and Minister of Culture Limor Livnat.

The main arguments of Prime Minister Petr Nečas regarding why the Czech Republic has not committed to ratification of the fiscal compact
Prime Minister Petr Nečas has requested the preparation of an unofficial translation of the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union, the so-called fiscal compact. The Office of the Government will provide both Czech and English versions to the general public. We will also provide a summary of the main arguments of the Prime Minister as to why the Czech Republic has not yet committed to signing it.

A series of expert discussions on the National Reform Programme updating has began
The Government of the Czech Republic will present to the European Commision its updated National Reform Programme in April 2012, in connection with the timetable of the European Semester. It will summarize the reform efforts contributing to fulfilling goals set in Europe 2020 Strategy. Representatives of Government Departments and both parliamentary chambers will take part in the document updating process.

The Government has declared a period of national mourning to honour the memory of President Václav Havel
Today, during an extraordinary session, the Government announced that 21st – 23rd December will be days of national mourning to honour the memory of President Václav Havel. The Cabinet also proposed that the Parliament pass a bill on the merits of the first President of the Czech Republic.
