Czech Cabinet Approves the Fiscal Compact as part of Adjusting Its EU Policy

At a meeting held on Monday 24 March 2014, the Cabinet of Premier Bohuslav Sobotka approved a proposal of the ministers of finance and foreign affairs to accede to the Treaty on Stability, Coordination, and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union in a move to fulfill one of the Cabinet's commitments undertaken in its policy statement.

Prime Minister Sobotka signs EU–Ukraine Association Agreement at European Council

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended the European Council in Brussels on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 March. During the summit, leaders of the EU Member States focused on the situation prevailing in Ukraine, and also addressed economic issues such as the boosting of growth, competitiveness and employment, energy policy and climate protection plans.

Prime Minister Sobotka discussed matters with the Polish Prime Minister Tusk

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka visited the Republic of Poland in terms of his second official foreign trip. Together with Prime Minister Tusk, he discussed Czech-Polish cooperation in terms of the Visegrad Four and the whole of the EU, interconnection of the energy market and its security and development of the transport infrastructure.
