Outgoing premier Jiří Rusnok handed over the office of the prime minister to his successor Bohuslav Sobotka on Wednesday 29 January 2014. Rusnok received the new premier and his Cabinet ministers in the garden of the Office of the Government.

Restart of collaboration between the Czech Republic and China
Prime Minister Jiří Rusnok has received the delegation of Song Tao, Secretary of the Secretariat for Collaboration between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Prime Minister Jiří Rusnok congratulated German Chancellor Angela Merkel on her success in the elections to the German Bundestag, which took place on 22nd September. Prime Minister praised Czech-German relations as better than ever before in their modern history and expressed the wish to develop the partnership between both countries.
