Portugal set to successfully complete aid programme and will require no further assistance

Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho has announced that the country’s three-year aid programme will draw to a close in May and that no further support in the form of preventive financial assistance would be needed. Portugal is following in the steps of another aid-programme country – Ireland, which enjoyed a successful comeback on the financial markets and wound up its recovery programme in December 2013.

Czech Premier and French President Avow Good Relations between Their Countries

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met with French President François Holland during a two-day trip to France. Apart from cooperation on European issues, the main topic they discussed was the deepening of the strategic partnership between France and the Czech Republic. Sobotka's working trip will continue on Friday with a meeting with French Premier Manuel Valls.

During the fourth edition of the event, delegates from European and African countries discussed such issues as peace, prosperity, and migration, and assessed the partnership between the two continents. Sobotka subsequently met with officials from Tunisia, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
