Portugal set to successfully complete aid programme and will require no further assistance
Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho has announced that the country’s three-year aid programme will draw to a close in May and that no further support in the form of preventive financial assistance would be needed. Portugal is following in the steps of another aid-programme country – Ireland, which enjoyed a successful comeback on the financial markets and wound up its recovery programme in December 2013.

Prime Minister Sobotka discusses Europe’s future with Council President Rompuy
As part of the ten-year anniversary of the Czech Republic’s accession to the European Union, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy held talks. They also appeared together at the “Ten Years of the Czech Republic in the EU” Business Forum, held at Lichtenstein Palace.

Bohuslav Sobotka Meets French Premier Valls to Discuss Strategic Partnership
Sobotka met with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls in the Matignon Palace on the second day of a working trip to France. The Czech prime minister was the first foreign guest received by Valls following his recent induction into office.

Czech Premier and French President Avow Good Relations between Their Countries
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met with French President François Holland during a two-day trip to France. Apart from cooperation on European issues, the main topic they discussed was the deepening of the strategic partnership between France and the Czech Republic. Sobotka's working trip will continue on Friday with a meeting with French Premier Manuel Valls.

Premier Sobotka Stresses the Importance of European Integration at a Conference Commemorating the Tenth Anniversary of EU Membership
11 April 2014 – Speaking at a conference entitled "Czech Republic and Europe through Each Other's Eyes", held earlier today to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Czech membership in the European Union, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka stressed the importance of European integration and reflected on the EU's role in launching the democratization process in the Czech Republic 25 years ago.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka Attends the EU-Africa Summit in Brussels
Czech Premier Bohuslav Sobotka attended the EU-Africa Summit on Wednesday 2 April 2014. During the fourth edition of the event, delegates from European and African countries discussed such issues as peace, prosperity, and migration, and assessed the partnership between the two continents. Sobotka subsequently met with officials from Tunisia, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
