Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka Visits the U.S.

The unveiling of a bust of Václav Havel in the American Congress, a visit to Czech expatriates in Texas, a meeting with Vice President Biden at the White House, and a ceremony commemorating the legacy of J. F. Kennedy in Dallas were some of the numerous events attended by Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka as part a working visit to the United States during 17 to 20 November 2014.

Prime Minister Sobotka at unveiling of a bust of Havel at the US Congress

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka is continuing his official trip to the US. On Wednesday 19 November 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended the unveiling of a bust of Václav Havel by Lubomír Janečka in the House of Representatives wing of the Capitol, met Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner, and contributed to a discussion of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Prime Minister deplored Jerusalem terrorist attack

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka sent a message of condolences to Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu deploring a terrorist attack on a synagogue in the Har Nof neighbourhood of Jerusalem, in which four worshippers and one police officer died on 18 November 2014.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met US Vice-President Joe Biden at the White House on 18 November 2014. The meeting, held at 1:30 p.m. as part of the PM's visit to the United States, was also attended by the chairman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, Jan Hamáček.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka launched the National Convent on the EU project

On Thursday 13 November 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka opened the first conference in the National Convent on the EU project, called A European Vision for the Czech Republic. The new platform is intended to intensify the dialogue on European issues and to involve the wider public in discussions on Europe.

Prime Minister Sobotka met the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović

On Tuesday 11 October 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović , who arrived on his first official visit to the Czech Republic. One of the most important topics of the meeting involved sharing experiences of the electronic recording of sales. The two leaders also discussed cooperation in trade, investments, energy security, culture and support for the activities of expatriate communities.
