On Tuesday 9 December 2014, the prime ministers of the member states of the Visegrad group and the President of the Swiss Confederation, Didier Burkhalter met in Bratislava. The group meeting primarily focused on discussions on energy security, competitiveness and the situation in Ukraine.

On Monday 8 December 2014, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met with the President of the Federal Council of the Republic of Austria, Ana Blatnik. The President of the Upper Chamber of the Austrian parliament arrived in the CR at the invitation of the President of the Czech Senate, Milan Štěch.

Prime Minister Sobotka signed an agreement with the French Prime Minister, Valls, to deepen cooperation between the two countries

During a two-day visit to the Czech Republic, the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, met with the Czech Prime Minister, Bohuslav Sobotka on Monday 8 December 2014. The two leaders mainly addressed the mutual relations existing between the two countries. They also signed important agreements on future cooperation.

Prime Minister Sobotka opened the Bavarian representative offices for the Czech Republic together with Minister-President of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer

On Thursday, 4 December 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, together with Minister-President of Bavaria Horst Seehofer, opened the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria in Prague. At their joint meeting, the two premiers focused on mutual relations and means of their further expansion, which should be supported by the new Representation in the CR.

Prime Minister Sobotka spoke with Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz about strengthening cooperation between their two countries

On Tuesday 2 December 2014, Polish Prime Minister, Ewa Kopacz visited the Czech Republic. At a joint meeting with Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, the two leaders mainly discussed strengthening transport links between Poland and the Czech Republic and measures to improve air quality in the area of Polish Silesia and the Moravia-Silesian region.

The Government extends its strategic partnership with Israel

On Wednesday November 26th 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, together with other members of the Cabinet and representatives of the Czech business community, completed a three-day working visit to the State of Israel. During the Czech-Israeli inter-governmental consultations in Jerusalem, 10 memoranda and agreements extending cooperation between the two countries were signed in Jerusalem. The Prime Minister met with the Israeli Prime Minister and with the President. He also paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust at the Yad Vashem memorial.

Members of the Governments of the Czech Republic and the State of Israel met in Jerusalem

Members of the Czech and Israeli Governments met in Jerusalem where joint inter-governmental meetings took place with the participation of the prime ministers and ministers of both states. These were the third inter-governmental consultations since 2011.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka Visits the U.S.

The unveiling of a bust of Václav Havel in the American Congress, a visit to Czech expatriates in Texas, a meeting with Vice President Biden at the White House, and a ceremony commemorating the legacy of J. F. Kennedy in Dallas were some of the numerous events attended by Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka as part a working visit to the United States during 17 to 20 November 2014.

Prime Minister Sobotka at unveiling of a bust of Havel at the US Congress

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka is continuing his official trip to the US. On Wednesday 19 November 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended the unveiling of a bust of Václav Havel by Lubomír Janečka in the House of Representatives wing of the Capitol, met Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner, and contributed to a discussion of the Council on Foreign Relations.
