Prime Minister in talks with his Armenian counterpart on economic cooperation
The Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met on Tuesday 2 June 2015 with the Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. The two Prime Ministers and the Czech Minister for Industry and Trade Mr Jan Mládek discussed development of economic and investment cooperation between our two countries as well as relations in areas of education, culture and tourism.

Czech Prime Minister Sobotka supports gender equality struggle
The Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka joined on Tuesday 2 June 2015 the campaign lead by UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson at a special event for the HeForShe campaign. The objective of this campaign is to support men’s role in combating inequality between genders, violence against women and stopping any forms of discrimination. The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka supported the aims of this campaign along the with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr Lubomír Zaorálek at a photo opportunity.

Prime Minister Sobotka in debate with former Polish President Kwaśniewski
Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka met in the Parliament today the former Polish President Alexander Kwaśniewski. During joint lunch, they have discussed Czech-Polish relations, the future of the European Union, current security issues as well as the future of the left in central European countries.

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka welcomed on Tuesday 26 May at the Straka Academy the Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič. Their discussions centred on Energy Union project, which will be the keystone of the coming Czech presidency of the Visegrad Group, which begins on 1 July 2015.

The Prime Minister discussed new business opportunities and developing relations between the two countries with the President of Vietnam
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and Minister of Culture, Daniel Herman, met the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang, at Kramarov Villa. The main topics discussed during the meeting were the development of bilateral trade between the two countries, closer cooperation in the areas of education, science and research and new business opportunities for Czech companies, particularly in the machine engineering, energy and food sectors, as well as in agricultural technology.

Czech doctors and firefighters will continue to provide assistance in Nepal for a further two weeks
At a meeting on Wednesday 13 May 2015, Bohuslav Sobotka’s Government decided to extend its humanitarian aid to Nepal. The Czech trauma team will remain working there for another two weeks.

The third joint meeting between the Czech and Slovak governments confirmed the excellent relations existing between the two countries
On Tuesday 12 May 2015, Valtice Castle in southern Moravia hosted the third joint meeting of the Czech and Slovak governments. Members of the government cabinets of both countries, headed by Prime Ministers Bohuslav Sobotka and Robert Fico, discussed current issues being addressed by individual ministries and stepping up cooperation between the two countries.
