Prime Minister Sobotka and South Korean President Park Geun-hye adopt action plan for Czech-Korean strategic partnership
Today, Thursday 3 December 2015, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and the President of the Republic of Korea, Park Geun-hye, discussed how to step up the mutual cooperation between their two countries. Their talks at Prague’s Liechtenstein Palace focused on economic cooperation, investments by Korean companies in the Czech Republic, and security issues.

A summit of the Prime Ministers of V4 countries will be held in Prague on 3 December 2015
A summit of the Prime Ministers of member countries of the Visegrad Group, which is currently presided by the Czech Republic, will be held in Prague on Thursday 3 December 2015. The top-level meeting of the leaders of the Central European region will be attended by President of Korea, Park Geun-hye.

Countries of the Visegrad Group will increase their contribution to Africa and strengthen capacities of Frontex and EASO
The states of the Visegrad Group agreed to strengthen their solidarity activities to address the migration crisis at the Valletta summit. The Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary promised in the common declaration to increase their joint financial contribution to the Trust Fund for Africa by EUR 400 thousand. Each of the countries will send another 75 experts to Frontex and EASO. The Visegrad Group thus proved its commitment to extend solidarity activities again.

The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka signed the establishment of the Trust Fund for Africa
The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka signed the documents establishing the Trust Fund for Africa in Valletta today. The Czech Prime Minister attached his signature to the signatures of the other European leaders. The objective of the Fund is to support stability in the region, improve the managed migration and address causes for destabilisation and illegal migration, particularly by the support to economy, safety, development and equal opportunities.

Premier Sobotka informed EC President Juncker of a significant increase of Czech financial assistance provided regarding the current migration crisis
In his letter sent today, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka informed President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker on an extraordinary financial contribution made by the Czech Republic to the funds and institutions involved in relieving the causes of the current migration crisis and in providing humanitarian aid. In this respect, the Czech government has allocated 105 million crowns for financial assistance in this year and 68 million for the same purpose in next year.

Prime Minister Sobotka: The Czech Republic will help 152 Christian refugees from Erbil, Iraq
On Tuesday, 27 October 2015, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka received a member of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Father Benjamin Shamoun, at the Office of the Government. One of the main topics of the meeting was a request by the Generace 21 Foundation for the Czech Government’s assistance in the resettlement of 152 Christian refugees from camps in Erbil, Iraq.

In the Zaatari refugee camp, Prime Minister Sobotka personally examined the use of financial assistance from the Czech Republic
On Sunday 25 October, during his trip to Jordan, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka visited the Zaatari refugee camp where he met with the Jordanian police officials who manage the camp and representatives of international agencies. He also visited the local clinic, where he met a number of Syrians who were operated on by Czech doctors under the MEDEVAC programme. He also paid a visit to the site of the electricity grid, which was built for the camp with financial assistance from the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Sobotka met with Prime Minister Ensour in Jordan and was received by King Abdullah II.
During his visit to Jordon, on Sunday 25 October Prime Minister Sobotka met with Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and was received by the Jordanian King, Abdullah II. The main topics addressed during the meeting included cooperation in the areas of defence and security, the fight against ISIL, the current situation regarding the refugee crisis and the related development and humanitarian aid the Czech Republic is providing to Jordan.
