Prime Minister Sobotka meets Governor, filmmakers and SpaceX management in California
On Sunday 3 April and Monday 4 April 2016, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka stopped off in Los Angeles and San Francisco at the end of his five-day working trip to the United States. At a meeting with the Californian Governor, he voiced his backing of the Global Climate Leadership initiative. He also met representatives of the six largest film studios and took a tour of spaceflight company SpaceX. In addition, the Prime Minister visited the Museum of Tolerance, where he spoke to members of the Jewish community.

Prime Minister greets Czech compatriots in Washington, DC, Minneapolis and LA
During his working trip around the United States, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met Czech compatriots at all stops along the way. This was the Prime Minister’s way of appreciating the contribution made by the numerous compatriot associations that help to raise the profile of the Czech Republic and spread its reputation abroad.

Prime Minister Sobotka meets Minnesota Governor Dayton and takes part in signing of declaration on further cooperation with Mayo Clinic
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka is continuing his working trip to the United States by visiting Minneapolis, where he held talks with State Governor Mark Dayton. The Prime Minister also took part in the signing of a declaration on further cooperation between Mayo Clinic and St Anne’s Hospital in Brno. The Prime Minister also hailed the qualities of the former Czechoslovak honorary consul in Minnesota, Charles Proshek, awarding him the Karel Kramář Medal in memoriam and met over two hundred compatriots.

Prime Minister: The Czech Republic is a world leader in nuclear security
At the invitation of US President Barack Obama, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka took part in the Nuclear Security Summit held from 31.3. to 1.4.2016 in Washington. At the Summit, the Czech Republic offered technical assistance to other countries and voluntarily undertook commitments beyond the joint communiqué. In fringe meetings, the Prime Minister met the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Switzerland.

Nuclear Security Summit opens with dinner hosted by President Obama, with Prime Minister Sobotka attending on behalf of the Czech Republic
On Thursday 31 March 2016, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended a gala evening hosted at the White House by President Barack Obama. The dinner marked the official opening of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, DC.

Prime Minister honours former Radio Free Europe staff
On Thursday 31 March 2016, during his trip to Washington, DC, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka honoured the people from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty who had been instrumental in the relocation of its headquarters to Prague. He also paid tribute to Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk on the 166th anniversary of his birth.

Prime Minister Sobotka kicks off working trip to the US by meeting representatives of major US corporations
Prime Minister Sobotka kicked off his working trip to the US by meeting representatives of major US corporations in Washington, DC, on Thursday 31 March 2016. His first appointment of the day was with Christopher J Dodd, Chief Executive Director of the Motion Picture Association of America, followed by the management of GE Aviation and US firms investing in the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Sobotka met in Paris with French employers and unveiled a plaque to mark the anniversary of the Czechoslovak National Council
On Thursday the 24th of March 2016, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka began a working visit in Paris by meeting representatives of French companies from the employers’ association MEDEF, then he unveiled a commemorative plaque on the building of the Czech Centre marking the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak National Council in Paris, and met with fellow countrymen and Czech students.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka honours victims of the Brussels terrorist attacks at a vigil at the Belgian Embassy
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka paid tribute to the victims of the Brussels terrorist attacks by laying flowers and lighting a candle at the Belgian Embassy in Prague. He also extended his personal condolences to Belgian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Mrs Françoise Gustin and added his signature to the condolence book.
