Premier Sobotka Handed over the Presidency of the Visegrad Group to Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlova and Delivered a Symbolic Gift
At the close of a summit of the prime ministers of Visegrad Group countries held in Prague on 8 June 2016, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka presented a painting of St. Adalbert to Polish Premier Beata Szydlova. The act marked the symbolic handover of the presidency of the Visegrad Group between the two countries.

Prime Minister Sobotka hosts Final Summit of Czech V4 Presidency in Prague
On Wednesday 8 June an official summit of the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad group of countries was held in Prague; this was the culmination of the year-long Czech V4 Presidency. During their meeting, the Prime Ministers assessed the results of the Czech Presidency and also discussed the upcoming European Council session. From the beginning of July, the Presidency of the Visegrad group will be taken over by Poland.

V4 leaders call on the European Commission to help the citizens of the Ukraine
During today´s V4 summit, the Premiers of the Visegrad Group countries signed a letter addressed to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, in which they call for launching a Regional Programme of Development and Protection for the Ukraine.

Premiers Sobotka and Fico discussed priorities of Slovakia´s EU presidency and joint sessions of their governments
On Wednesday 8th June, 2016, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met in Krámář´s Villa his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico who arrived in the Czech Republic on his first official visit abroad following his re-appointment. The main themes of their discussions were the relations between the two countries, Central-European regional cooperation and topical European issues.

During its Presidency the Czech Republic organises fourth Summit of V4 Prime Ministers
On Wednesday 8 June 2016 the Černínský Palace in Prague will see as part of the Czech V4 Presidency the fourth Summit of the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad group of countries. The frequency of Prime Ministerial meetings of the Visegrad group has reached an exceptional level during the Czech Presidency.

Prime Minister Sobotka Attended Czech-Israeli Intergovernmental Consultations on Trade, Security, and Research and Development
Premier Sobotka and a delegation of Cabinet ministers attended the Fourth Intergovernmental Consultations between the Czech Republic and Israel held in Jerusalem on Sunday 22 May 2016. The Czech Prime Minister met with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin, and Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. The Czech delegation included some 30 entrepreneurs.

Joint Statement Czech-Israeli Intergovernmental Consultations
On May 22, 2016, the Governments of the Czech Republic and the State of Israel held the 4th Intergovernmental consultations chaired by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka and the Prime Minister of the State of Israel Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu.

Prime Minister Sobotka meets with Hungarian National Assembly chairman Lászlo Kövér
On Wednesday, 27 April 2016, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met at the Straka Academy with Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Lászlo Kövér, who came to the Czech Republic to mark the occasion of the meeting of the chairpersons of the Visegrad countries’ houses of parliament. Prime Minister Sobotka spoke with the chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly about regional cooperation in Central Europe and about the Czech Republic’s current presidency of the Visegrad Group as well as about current European issues.
