Prime Minister Fiala held talks in Israel with Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Herzog
On Wednesday 25 October, Prime Minister Petr Fiala visited Israel. He met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, to whom he expressed the Czech Republic's unequivocal solidarity with the State of Israel following the brutal attack by the Hamas terrorist movement. Prime Minister Fiala stressed that the Czech Republic stands on Israel's side and is ready to fully support it materially and diplomatically. The Czech Prime Minister also visited a hospital in Tel Aviv, where he met with survivors of the terrorist attacks and with the family of Oran Elfasi, a Czech-Israeli victim of the recent attack.

EU leaders met in Granada to discuss priorities for the upcoming years and the enlargement of the Union
On Friday, 6 October, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala attended an informal meeting of the European Council in Granada, Spain. The leaders of the Member States discussed key priorities for the upcoming years, which are essential for a strong, dynamic and competitive Europe. The topics discussed also included migration, the EU’s strategic self-sufficiency and the enlargement of the European Union.

Prime Minister Fiala attended the European Political Community meeting in Granada
On Thursday, 5 October, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala attended the European Political Community Summit in Granada, Spain. During the plenary session, European leaders addressed issues of resilience and prosperity for the continent as a whole, Europe's position on the global stage and discussed Europe's economic strength and economic security. The Prime Minister also address a round table on energy and the fight against climate change and held a number of bilateral meetings.

After meeting with Prime Minister Fiala, the President of the European Commission announced the approval of the updated National Recovery Plan
The European Commission has approved an updated version of the Czech National Recovery Plan. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made the announcement after a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala at the Straka Academy on Tuesday 26 September 2023. At the working meeting, the Prime Minister and the head of the European Commission also discussed the notification of the completion of the Dukovany nuclear power plant, the situation around migration, as well as support for the Czechs in the EU institutions and the proposal for a new EURO 7 emission standard.

Prime Minister Fiala held talks with his South Korean counterpart Han Duck-soo on investment support and nuclear energy development
On Tuesday, 12 September, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Mr Han Duck-soo, at the Straka Academy. The meeting focused on the promotion of mutual trade and investment, cooperation in the construction of high-speed lines, the development of nuclear energy and cooperation in the production of batteries for electric vehicles.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala supports the accession of Northern Macedonia to the European Union
On Tuesday, 29 August 2023, Prime Minister Petr Fiala met with the President of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Steve Pendarovski, at the Kramář Villa. During the meeting, they discussed in particular North Macedonia's path to the European Union and the opportunity for the development of trade cooperation between the two countries.

Speech by Prime Minister Fiala at the regular meeting of Czech ambassadors
On Monday, 28 August 2023, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala attended a regular meeting of the heads of Czech embassies abroad at the Czernin Palace. The Prime Minister gave an opening speech at the meeting.

The Prime Minister signed the Czech-American Defense Agreement completing the ratification process
On 16 August 2023, Prime Minister Petr Fiala signed the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between the Czech Republic and the United States of America after President Petr Pavel. The approval process has thus been completed and the agreement will enter into force 30 days after the confirmatory note by the United States.

Czech and Polish governments discussed cooperation in energy, transport and support for Ukraine in Katowice
On Thursday, 20 July 2023, a joint meeting of the representatives of the Czech and Polish governments took place in Katowice, Poland. At the already eighth intergovernmental consultations, the Cabinets, headed by Prime Ministers Petr Fiala and Mateusz Morawiecki, discussed the deepening of cross-border cooperation and collaboration in the energy and transport sectors and support for Ukraine, with an emphasis on military aid and reconstruction of the country. The last joint meeting of the governments of the Czech Republic and Poland took place on 3 June 2022 in Prague.

Prime Minister Fiala attended the EU-Latin America and Caribbean Summit in Brussels
On 17 and 18 July, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský attended the third summit of the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Brussels. The leaders discussed strengthening trade cooperation and investment, strategic raw materials, ecological and digital transformation and the fight against climate change. The EU has concluded Memoranda of Understanding to launch a strategic partnership on critical raw materials with Argentina and Chile. The leaders adopted a final declaration as well as a joint declaration on the EU-Latin America Digital Alliance and the promotion of investment between the two regions. On the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister also met with Chilean President Gabriel Boric.
