Prime Minister Babiš met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman to discuss a direct airline connection and deeper economic cooperation

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah. They mainly discussed deepening of economic and technological cooperation, the possibility of introducing a direct airline connection or a growing tourist exchange. The Czech Republic is also interested in strengthening Oman’s diplomatic presence in Prague and vice versa.

Prime Minister attended the Summit of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European Countries and China in Dubrovnik

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the Summit of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and the People’s Republic of China in Dubrovnik on 11 and 12 April 2019. He primarily discussed cooperation in trade and investment, transport, infrastructure, industry and culture. He also met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia Zoran Zaev.

Prime Minister: I am pleased that we have agreed to extend the Brexit negotiations

On the evening of 10 April 2019, the Heads of Governments of the EU Member States met at an extraordinary summit on Article 50 of the EU Treaty, i.e. to discuss further action on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. The main theme of the evening was the possibility of extending the Brexit negotiations. The Czech delegation was led by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

The Office of the Government has joined the “Czech Republic in Blue Light” campaign for the fourth time

On the night of Tuesday 2 April to Wednesday 3 April 2019, Kramář’s villa was lit up in blue. The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic thus joined the nationwide campaign to support people with autism spectrum disorder “Czech Republic in Blue Light”.

Prime Minister Babiš highlighted the need to complete the single internal market at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels

On Thursday and Friday 21 and 22 March 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the European Council meeting in Brussels. The main topic of the first meeting was Brexit and the postponement of the UK’s departure from the European Union. On the second day, the EU27 leaders dealt with economic issues, such as trade relations with China and the US.

On Friday, 15 March 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with the Prime Minister of Romania Viorica Dăncilă in Kramář’s Villa. The joint meeting, also in view of the ongoing Romanian Presidency of the European Council, covered current European issues including Brexit, the preparation of the European budget and migration. The Prime Ministers also discussed trade and investment cooperation.
