On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the second meeting of constitutional officials at Prague Castle at the invitation of the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman. Together with the Speaker of the Senate Jaroslav Kubera, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondráček, 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Jan Hamáček and Ministers of Foreign affairs Tomáš Petříček and Defense Lubomír Metnar, they called on citizens to participate actively in the forthcoming European Parliament elections.

On Thursday, 9 May 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš discussed the priorities of the future direction of the European Union at the informal summit of the European Council in Sibiu, Romania. EU leaders adopted a joint declaration summarizing the main objectives for the coming years.

Prime Minister Babiš opened an exhibition of protocol gifts during the Open Day in the Liechtenstein Palace
On the occasion of Victory Day, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic held an Open Day in the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague’s Kampa on 8 May 2019. The program also included a grand opening of a new exhibition of the Prime Minister’s protocol gifts, attended by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and the head of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, Tünde Bartha.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš commemorated the anniversary of the end of World War II
On the occasion of the National Victory Day on 8 May 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a commemoration act at the National Memorial at Vítkov in Prague and the ceremonial appointment of new generals at Prague Castle. The head of the Office of the Government Tünde Bartha then honoured the memory of the fallen at the monument to the second Czechoslovak resistance in Prague’s Klárov.

On 8 May 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with the president of the European Council Donald Tusk. The meeting was held in the form of a working breakfast at Hrzán Palace, and both politicians spoke about the future of the European Union, but also about drought and dual quality food issues.

Speech of the Prime Minister on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Czech Red Cross
On Tuesday, 7 May 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš gave a speech at the Žofín Palace to celebrate 100 years since the foundation of the Czech Red Cross in 1919. The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch, President of the Czech Red Cross Marek Jukl and representatives of the Red Crescent also attended the event.

Czech Republic is heading the elite while introducing the AI strategy
The Czech Republic has joined the club of countries that have a clear plan on how to succeed and advance in the technology of the future – the artificial intelligence (AI). On Monday, the government approved the National Strategy of Artificial Intelligence in the Czech Republic, which is the basis for supporting the development of AI in the Czech Republic and also a prerequisite for the emergence of the European super hub. Europe's most advanced countries such as France, the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as the most technologically advanced countries in the world, have a similar strategy.
