Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček promote Czech companies’ interests in Turkey

The Czech delegation, headed by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, spent the second day of this official visit to Turkey in Istanbul. The agenda primarily concerned economic matters, and in talks with the Turkish side the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček promoted Czech companies’ interests on the Turkish market. The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister have been accompanied in Turkey by a large delegation from Czech businesses.

On his visit to Turkey Prime Minister Babiš talks with President Erdoğan about supporting bilateral trade

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš visited Turkey accompanied by Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček and a delegation of businessmen. During talks with the country’s most senior representatives, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the representatives of the Czech government focused on economic issues, looking at greater economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as discussing migration, the fight against terrorism and the completion of Adularya power plant.

The Prime Minister attends celebrations in Banská Bystrica to mark the 75th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended celebrations in Banská Bystrica on Thursday 29 August 2019 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. The Prime Minister was accompanied by the President of the Senate Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondráček and Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar.

Sixth Czech-Polish intergovernmental consultation held in Warsaw

On Wednesday 28 August 2019 a joint meeting of representatives of the Czech and Polish governments was held in Warsaw. At this, the sixth such meeting, the cabinets of Prime Ministers Andrej Babiš and Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the multiannual financial framework, the climate, bilateral cooperation and appointments to key posts in the European Union.

ADVICE, September 12, 2019: The Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will welcome Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group and partners from Western Balkan

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš will host a meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group on Thursday September 12, 2019. This time, partners from the Western Balkan have been invited to the meeting as well. The purpose of the event is to strengthen cooperation of the two regions. Mainly current European issues will be on the agenda of the meeting, e.g. composition of the new European Commission, Multiannual financial framework after 2020, infrastructure, human resources, education, financial stability or approach to solving the climate issues.

The permanent exhibition Water and Civilisation opens in front of Kramář’s Villa

Today the Office of the Government opened a permanent outdoor exhibition called Water and Civilisation in the tree-lined alley leading to Kramář’s Villa. In the spring more than 200,000 people viewed this unique exhibition on Kampa Island in Prague, and now even more people can see it. The exhibition is open 24 hours a day and is free of charge. It was officially opened by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, Minister of the Environment Richard Brabec, Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Toman and other members of the government.

The Prime Minister inducts the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek

On Tuesday 27 August 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš inducted the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek, who had at one time headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His induction followed the appointing of this new member of the government by President Miloš Zeman.

Prime Minister discussed the incoming President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen

On 29 July 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, as the third prime minister in the EU, met with the incoming President of the European Commission, Ms Ursula von der Leyen. He talked about his expectations of her Commission and the priorities of the Czech government in the EU. They also discussed the nominee of the Czech Republic for the incoming European Commission and the agenda the Czech government would prefer.

On Tuesday 16 July 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a working lunch with ambassadors of EU Member States and candidate countries in the Czech Republic. The working lunch was organized by the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Prague, Jukka Pesola.
