Prime Minister Babiš visits Luxembourg for talks with the Prime Minister and the Grand Duke, and he pays tribute to Jan Palach
On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 November 2019 the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and his wife Monika visited Luxembourg. During this official visit the Czech Prime Minister met the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, had talks with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and visited the European Court of Auditors.

In Prague, representatives of countries in the Friends of Cohesion group adopted a declaration, in which they refuse reductions in the cohesion policy
Cohesion policy is a key investment tool of the European Union. This was a joint opinion of representatives of sixteen countries associated in the Friends of Cohesion group, who attended its summit at the Prague Castle on Tuesday, 5 November 2019.

Prime Minister Babiš meets the Prime Minister of Croatia
On Monday 4 November the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, at the Friends of Cohesion summit. They discussed trade and economic relations, Brexit, migration and European topics such as the EU’s long-term budget and the forthcoming Croatian presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Prime Minister takes part in celebrations of the founding of Czechoslovakia
On Sunday 27 October Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš took part in the ceremonial military oath of allegiance in Hradčanské náměstí in Prague. On Monday 28 October, the 101st anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia, the Prime Minister laid a wreath at the National Monument at Vítkov. Afterwards he attended the appointing of generals at Prague Castle, followed by the awarding of state decorations.

Prime Minister Babiš meets the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe
The Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš continued his visit to Japan on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 October. He and the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe discussed boosting trade between their two countries, and he also met with representatives from major companies.

Prime Minister Babiš visits Japan for Emperor Naruhito’s enthronement
On Tuesday 22 October 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended Emperor Naruhito’s enthronement ceremony in Tokyo. The Prime Minister also met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman, Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq bin Taimur al-Said, and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Later the Czech Prime Minister visited the Imperial Palace, where he and his wife Monika attended a banquet following the Emperor’s enthronement.

ADVICE 5 November 2019: Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will welcome representatives of countries associated in the Friends of Cohesion group
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, will host a summit of the Friends of Cohesion group on Tuesday, 5 November. The purpose of the meeting is to enhance cooperation among member countries in the final stage of negotiations on the long-term EU budget for the upcoming period. The summit will be attended by 16 EU Member States, mainly the cohesion countries and States of the south EU wing.

Prime Minister Babiš discusses expansion and the EU budget at the European Council
The Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš continued his talks with the leaders of the other member states at the European Council’s meeting. During their working dinner on Thursday they discussed EU expansion and external relations. On Friday 18 October 2019 they then talked about the EU’s multiannual financial framework and various institutional matters.
