Government seeks to extend the suspension of EET use until the end of 2022 and pay a compensation bonus for small businesses
Entrepreneurs would not have to record sales through electronic sales records until the end of 2022. As one of the measures to support the economy, this was proposed by the government of Andrej Babiš at an extraordinary meeting on Friday, 16 October. It also approved a bill on a compensation bonus for entrepreneurs affected by the current crisis measures and decided to call up soldiers for the needs of the newly established reserve hospital in Prague-Letňany.

Government approves programmes to help affected businesses and employers and to support culture and professional sports
At an extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday, 14 October 2020, the government of Andrej Babiš approved several subsidy programmes and other proposals by which it wants to support businesses and employers in the sectors hardest hit by the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. It also discussed several important documents that relate to the drawing of European subsidies.

Government to tighten preventative measures from Wednesday and send protective equipment to disabled pensioners
There will be a further tightening of the anti-epidemic measures in the Czech Republic from Wednesday, 14 October. Their scope was approved by the government of Andrej Babiš at the meeting on Monday, 12 October 2020. It also decided to release 190 000 FFP2 respirators and a million masks from the state reserves for severely handicapped persons and it also approved the release of up to 205 million crowns for the purchase of remdesivir.

Due to the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, government to limit sporting, cultural and social events, the activities of public authorities and schools
At an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, 8 October 2020, the government of Andrej Babiš approved another package of crisis measures in response to unfavourable developments in the epidemic and to the growing number of those infected with the Covid-19 disease. In two waves, starting from 9 and 12 October, it will limit and then completely ban, among other things, sporting, cultural and other leisure events, and will limit the activities of public authorities, schools and restaurant opening hours. It is proposing extraordinary care allowance conditions for parents who have to stay at home due to school closures or the quarantine of a child.

The government has declared a 30-day state of emergency in the Czech Republic starting on Monday, with restrictions on mass-attendance events
On Monday 5 October 2020 the Czech Republic will come under a state of emergency. Andrej Babiš’s government made the decision at an extraordinary session on Wednesday 30 September 2020. Monday will also mark the start of a crisis measure under which the government restricts mass-attendance events.

On Monday 31 August 2020, PM Andrej Babiš attended a discussion as part of the 15th Bled Strategic Forum. Representatives of the attending countries and institutions discussed the future of Europe following the UK's departure from the European Union, also spending time exchanging experiences that the fight against the coronavirus pandemic has brought.
