Mandate for the European Council adopted unanimously
The Czech Government European Affairs Committee unanimously adopted today the mandate on the basis of which Czech Prime Minister and President of the European Council Jan Fischer will chair the last European Council meeting during the Czech Presidency in Brussels on 18 and 19 June.

The EU has noted with serious concern the mounting offensive of the Burmese Army and its allies against the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), which has resulted in large numbers of civilians fleeing from the conflict area in Kayin/Karen State to Thailand.
